Nusaybin, Turkey− Al-Qaeda splinter group of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) “committed a massacre” on Thursday morning in the town Shuyukh Foqani (5km southeast of Jarablus in Aleppo’s countryside). At least 80 civilians were reportedly killed in the attack, according to activists.

“ISIL members opened fire from their stronghold in the town towards residential neighbourhoods,” Jassim said.

Meanwhile, the ISIL members stormed a number of houses in the town and terrorized civilians, local sources reported. The majority of Shuyukh Foqani’s residents escaped the area on Thursday evening.

Noureddin Jawish, an activist based in the nearby city of Jarablus, told ARA News that violent clashes took place on Thursday between the opposition fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and ISIL members in Jarablus suburbs.
