Damascus, Syria– At least three regime soldiers were reported dead on Thursday during clashes with fighters of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) in Jorat al-Shayyah neighbourhood in Homs city, after regime forces tried to storm into the area, local sources reported.
Omar Suleiman, a local activist based in Homs city, told ARA News that regime forces positioned in its headquarters in the Military Academy also targeted al-Qarabis neighbourhood in the old city of Homs, amid continuous clashes with FSA fighters in areas around the neighbourhood.
“The regime forces targeted the besieged neighbourhoods in the old city of Homs with artillery shelling and rockets,” Suleiman said.
In a similar context, one civilian was reported dead on Thursday and 10 others injured as a result of the bombardment by regime helicopters on Talbisa city in the countryside of Homs. The wounded were taken to the field hospital in the city, according to activists.
Meanwhile, regime forces positioned in around the town of al-Dar al-Kabira in the countryside of Homs targeted the town with artillery shelling amid clashes with rebels in the nearby village of al-Khalidiya.
