Aleppo, Syria – On Wednesday evening, 12 civilians were reported dead and ten others wounded in Tareeq al-Bab neighbourhood in Aleppo city, amid an air strike by the Syrian air force.

Hussein Abdul Salam, civil activist based in Aleppo, told ARA News that the pro-Assad helicopters dropped explosive barrels on al-Hilwaniya area in Tareeq al-Bab neighbourhood, killing 12 civilians, including women and children.

Meanwhile, the pro-regime warplanes targeted the town of Tel Rifaat in the northern countryside of Aleppo with explosive barrels, killing one civilian and wounding 9 others, who were transferred to a field hospital in the town.

Local sources also reported that an aerial bombardment, launched by the pro-regime warplanes, targeted the residential buildings in the city of Mare’ in Aleppo countryside.

“The attack claimed lives of two civilian and wounded nine others who were transferred to a nearby field hospital,” locals told ARA News.

Wednesday’s air strikes didn’t exclude al-Sakhour and Qadi Askar districts in Aleppo, where the explosive barrels resulted in damage of several residential buildings. No casualties reported.

This coincided with the bombardment of the regime-held Political Security branch in predominantly Christian district of Sulaimaniya with mortar by rebels of the Islamic Front.
