Hasakah, Syria – At least 9 civilians were reported dead and 10 others wounded in Saddadi town, south of Hasakah city, due to an aerial bombardment by pro-Assad warplanes.

Mohammed Khalil, media activist based in Hasakah city, told ARA News that the pro-regime warplanes targeted the ISIL-held city of Shaddadi (50 km south of Hasakah city) with guided missiles, killing 9 civilians and wounding ten others, who were transferred  to nearby field hospitals.

The bombing, according to Khalil, came after militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant group (ISIL) brought military vehicles to the city of Shaddadi (which falls under ISIL control) including oil and gas seized during its control over the provinces of Nineveh and Salahuddi in Iraq, after removing the berm between both countries.

Local sources in the region confirmed the arrival of heavy military vehicles to the southern countryside of Hasakah and the northeastern province of Deir ez-Zor in Syria, including armored personnel carriers and armored vehicles, as well as military vehicles of American type (Hummer).
