Aleppo offensive claims lives of civilians

Aleppo, Syria – Seven civilians were reported dead and dozen others wounded in Aleppo city on Thursday, in an air strike by the pro-Assad air firce on al-Mashhad neighbourhood in the city, north of Syria, local sources reported.

Imad Hussein, civil rights activist based in the city of Aleppo, stated to ARA Newsthat the pro-regime helicopters targeted with explosive barrels the residential buildings in the neighbourhood, killing seven civilians, including two children, while at least 10 others were injured, including women and children, who were transferred to a nearby field hospital.

Hussein also said that Civil Defence teams and residents of the targeted area are still searching for survivors from the rubble, caused by the collapse of a number of residential buildings in the neighbourhood.

Ahmed Abdul Salam, another activist from Aleppo, told ARA Newsthat the pro-Assad helicopters dropped an explosive barrel on Jendoul area, as a similar bombardment hit Dwyer al-Zeitoon area.

“Meanwhile, other two explosive barrels dropped on Aleppo’s Central Prison. No reports of casualties,” Abdul Salam added.

Meanwhile, 7 members of the pro-regime military forces were reportedly killed on Thursday in clashes with fighters of Operations Camber of Ahl al-Sham in al-Swaiqa area in the Old city of Aleppo.
