Hasakah, Syria – Three civilians were reportedly injured on Saturday, as a result of a car bomb explosion in the city of Qamishli in Hasakah province, northeast of Syria.
Mohammed Saeed, an activist from the city of Qamishli, stated to ARA News that a car bomb exploded near the Youth and Sport Body (linked to the Auto-Administration announced by the Democratic Union Party ‘PYD’ and allied political parties) in Jimayeh district of Qamishli suburb.
Jimayeh’s attack coincided with the passage of a military convoy of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) (military arm of the PYD), injuring three civilians, one of them in critical situation, the source reported.
This comes one day after mortar fire hit the neighbourhood of Tel Hajar in Hasakah city, killing 8 civilians from one family. Activists accused militants of the Islamic State (IS) to stand behind the operation.
“Many others were injured and accordingly transferred to al-Hikma and Issam Baghdi hospitals in the city, Meral Abdo, civil rights activist from the city of Hasakah, told ARA News.
