Aleppo, Syria – On Sunday, military helicopters of the Syrian army targeted Idlib province in northern Syria with explosive barrels. At least 15 civilians were killed and ten others injured in the town of al-Hibeit in Idlib, activists reported.
Speaking to ARA News, civil rights activist Mohammed Salloum reported from Idlib that the pro-Assad military helicopters dropped several barrel bombs on residential neighborhoods in the town of al-Hibeit.
“The targeted areas were crowded with civilians. The death toll might increase as several people were seriously injured,” Salloum said. “There are women and children among the casualties.”
According to Salloum, the injured were transferred to a field hospital in the town.
The city of Binnish in Idlib province was exposed to similar bombardment on Sunday, causing the death of a woman and two children, while several others were reportedly injured.
Meanwhile, the pro-Assad warplanes targeted the town of Tel Mnnis near the city of Maarat an-Numan in the southern countryside of Idlib province. No casualties were reported.
The pro-regime military forces, on the other hand, bombed with heavy artillery the village of al-Rami on Mount al-Zawiya in northern Syria, causing the displacement of dozens of families towards the top of the mountain, eyewitnesses reported on Sunday evening.
