Qamishlo, Syria On Sunday, the U.S.-led air strikes targeted strongholds of the Islamic State (IS, also known as ISIL or ISIS) -an al Qaeda offshoot- in the countryside of al-Hasakah, as well as in Raqqa province and Aleppo.

Local activists in Hasakah told ARA News that the air forces of the anti-IS international coalition targeted the IS-held Ash-Shaddadi and the towns of Margada and al-Hol as well as the surrounding villages in the countryside of Hasakah on Sunday.

“The areas saw a mass displacement among civilians following the unexpected strikes,” according to local sources.

The U.S.-led air strikes also targeted a training camp for IS members in the village of Khatoniyah Bahra (in al-Hol sub district), forcing the militants to evacuate their strongholds in other areas of Hasakah countryside for fear of the coalition’s aircrafts.

Activists mentioned that coalition’s air strikes targeted the village of al-Fadgami (near the town of Margada), killing six civilians and injuring others though no IS members were present, locals told ARA News on Sunday.
