Damascus, Syria – The U.S.-led international coalition renewed its strikes against strongholds of the Islamic State militants group in Syria and Iraq on Monday.
Officials of the coalition reported 18 new airstrikes against the IS military units and weapons centers.
According to a statement by the Combined Joint Task Force, the U.S.-led operations included 12 raids in Syria and six others in Iraq on Monday.
The coalition’s fighter jets concentrated on the militants’ locations in the vicinity of the border towns of Kobane, Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor in northeastern Syria.
In Iraq, the coalition targeted IS military units in Mosul and Sinjar, according to the statement.
The Combined Joint Force didn’t specify the extent of the damage and losses in the ranks of the IS group during Monday’s operations.
