Damascus, Syria – At least 170 jihadists have been killed in the past two days by airstrikes from the U.S.-led international coalition against the radical group of the Islamic State (IS/ISIL), officials said on Tuesday.

In an official statement, the U.S. Central Command said that the coalition’s warplanes have carried out seven raids near the Syrian northeastern province of Hasakeh.

The strikes claimed lives of more than 170 IS jihadists.

The coalition’s airstrikes hit four IS tactical units, destroying seven vehicles, three fighting positions, two armoured vehicles and a shipping container.

This comes amid continuous advance by Kurdish forces of the People’s Protection Units (YPG) against the radical group in the countryside of Hasakah.
