Damascus, Syria – U.S.-led international coalition launched 30 new strikes on strongholds of the extremist group of Islamic State (IS/ISIS), the Combined Joint Task Force said in a statement on Saturday.

In Iraq, six airstrikes hit IS headquarters near Mosul, four strikes near Ramadi and three others near Sinjar.

Several IS-held tactical units and military vehicles were destroyed during the operations, according to the statement.

In Syria, the U.S.-led strikes were concentrated in northern areas “where Islamic State is fighting for a foothold”, including Hasakah, Kobane, Aleppo and Deir ez-Zor.
