Aleppo, Syria- Syria Revolutionaries Front -linked to the Free Syrian Army (FSA)- addressed in a statement on Friday “the jihadists and honest rebels who are decision-makers and divines in the Syrian revolution”.
The statement impelled the mentioned parties to obligate Jabhat al-Nusra “to accept the governance of al-Sharia” following the latter’s control on the strongholds of Syria Revolutionaries Front and killing 100 of its members in Idlib environs, northwest of Syria.
In the statement published on its official page, the Front mentioned “Ten days ago, al-Nusra militants announced their Emirate in Syria.”
“Abo Mohamad al-Joulani, al-Nusra leader, commenced forming his emirate starting from the Turkish border north of Idlib province, from Salqin to Darkosh,” said the statement.
“The emirate announcement followed al-Nusra’s withdrawal from Deir ez-Zor in northeastern Syria, where al-Qaeda splinter group of the Islamic State (previously as the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant ISIL) took control,” the statement continued.
The statement also mentioned the Sharia committee the Front sent five days ago, comprising Sheikh Mohamad Ezzdein and Shiekh Hasan al-Dgim, to meet al-Nusra leaders.
“The two parties met at Ram Hamdan area in Idlib to resolve the dispute, which was then forwarded to the Sharia committee.”
The statement confirmed al-Nusra’s attack on Wednesday against Syria Revolutionaries Front’s militants in Jisr al-Shgor, Darkosh and al-Zanbaqi areas in Idlib and the killing of many fighters as well as capturing some women and children.
“Al-Nusra mobilized 1000 of its masked militants to carry out this operation then continued their way to attack the strongholds of al-Ghab Wolves Brigade -linked to the Front- stealing all their possessions,” The statement pointed out.
The statement made it clear that “the Front has no intention, despite of all al-Nusra’s atrocities, to carry weapons against al-Nusra, as it is busy with fighting the Syrian regime in Daraa-south of Syria- as well as Wadi al-Def and al-Hamidya camp in Idlib”.
The Front invited Jabhat al-Nusra to withdraw from the former’s lands, return the confiscated possessions, release the captured, and extradite the perpetrators to the Sharia courts in the area.
Local council of Hafserja town in Idlib confirmed in a statement, published on Saturday, “Resorting to the Sharia between the Front and FSA on one hand, and al-Nusra on the other, is not a foible; rather a spare of Muslims’ blood and unity against the Assad regime.”
The council demanded al-Nusra to clarify its position towards the current situations in the region and to support Syrians.
The council’s statement also invited al-Nusra to “fight on the fronts rather than imposing their control on the regions already liberated by FSA where they sacrificed many fighters and supplies”.
Local activists from Idlib province confirmed to ARA News al-Nusra’s approval to resort to Sharia through a five-member Sharia committee, comprising three independent Sheikhs and a Sharia specialist from Jabhat al-Nusra and one from the Revolutionaries Front, to deliberate the recent incidents.
