Aleppo, Syria – On Saturday, the pro-Syrian regime helicopters dropped barrel bombs on Ain al-Tel neighborhood in the city of Aleppo in northern Syria, causing massive material damage, eyewitnesses reported.
Meanwhile, a similar attack hit the neighborhoods of Kallasa and al-Haidariya without any reports of injuries.
Eyewitnesses in Aleppo told ARA News that the pro-regime air forces targeted the Maamel area in Ain al-Tel neighborhood in the city, leading to large damage in industrial buildings. No casualties reported.
Ain al-Tel neighborhood is a significant industrial area where several plants are suspended due to the daily bombardment of pro-Assad army.
On the other hand, rebels of al-Shamiya Front and Army of Mujahidin and Ansar clashed with the pro-Assad forces in Bashkoy village in the northern countryside of Aleppo.
Speaking to ARA News, Mowaffak al-Halabi, a fighter from the al-Shamiya Front, said that their forces stationed in the village of Bashkoy attacked pro-Assad soldiers with locally-made guns and several Grad rockets, causing direct hits in the ranks of regime forces.
The Syrian regime’s forces seized control of the village three months ago after storming the northern countryside of Aleppo, in order to impose blockade on the city of Aleppo and lift the siege on the Shiite majority towns of Nubbul and Zahra.
Also on Saturday, fierce clashes erupted between rebels of Ahrar al-Sham and militants of the Islamic State (IS/ISIS) in the northern countryside of the Aleppo.
Speaking to ARA News on the phone, Abu Walid, a field commander in al-Shamiya Front, said that fierce clashes broke out between their forces and militants fighters of IS in areas of Soran and Azaz, during which heavy machine guns were used.
Last week, the Islamic State lost control of several villages in the vicinity of Soran, including Izaa, Tel Mald and Hour al-Nahr under the fire of the rebels. however, the group started to fight back on Saturday in order to regain those villages.
