A Syrian Turkmen FSA militia released a statement on Tuesday condemning the Dutch government for it’s ‘rude attitude and behavior’ against the Turks in Holland, ending its video statement with a ‘Allah Akbar’ slogan.

Relations between Turkey and the Netherlands hit a new low on Sunday, after the Dutch authorities escorted out a Turkish minister to German, and did not allow another minister to land in order campaign to gain more votes among the Turkish diaspora for a ‘yes’ vote for the presidential referendum in April. Since then tensions between Turkey and the Netherlands have hit rock bottom.

“As Syrian Turkmen we condemn the rude attitude and behaviour against the Turkish community and the diplomatic representatives of the republic of Turkey in the Netherlands,” said the commander of the FSA-affiliated Syrian Turkmen brigade, known as Muntasır Billah Tugayı.

The group also condemned the Dutch government behavior, and said that the Netherlands acts against its own laws, the EU and the UN.

“Turkish nation and Dutch citizens are part of longstanding friendship. The two nations have never been hostile against each other. We do not blame the Dutch people. This embarrassment belongs to the Dutch government,” the group said.

“We also know very well that the Dutch government has done this nonsense due to their domestic political problems,” he said about the Dutch elections scheduled for Wednesday.

“The xenophobic and racist political party, which is inimical to the Turks and Islam, and it’s leader have unfortunately captured the will of the Dutch government,” the Syrian Turkmen commander said.

“The Dutch people, who are connected with EU values and democracy, should not share this anti-democratic practice, as a part of Turks all over the world. We Syrian Turkmens would like to reiterate that we are with the republic of Turkey under all terms and conditions,” the group said, shouting Allah Akbar (God is great).

Nawaf Xelil, a Kurdish analyst and former official of the Democratic Union Party (PYD), told ARA News that the goal of Erdogan is to win more votes for the April referendum and to turn the Turkish population against the Netherlands, adding that Erdogan is following a neo-Ottoman policy.

“Now even the Turkish opposition should follow Erdogan’s way, otherwise they will be accused of being traitors,” he said.

“Erdogan is saying this only for the presidency, for changing the constitution. This was expected and will continue until April,” he said.
