Tel Temir, Hasakah, Syria – A car bomb attack hit this afternoon a military convoy of the Popular Protection Units (YPG) ــmilitary arm of the Democratic Union Party (PYD)ــ on the road between the town of Tel Temir and the city of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain), in the countryside of al-Hasakah province, northeast of Syria, leaving a number of dead and wounded.
Eyewitnesses told ARA News that the type of the bombed car was ‘Suzuki’ which entered the YPG-held area in Tel Temir. The suicider bombed the car next to a residential building which was previously inhabited by staff of the Cows Station, leaving six people dead and more than 25 wounded.
Activists from the area said that the YPG and Assayish (security arm of the PYD) declared a state of alert, sending patrols in the streets of the town after a rumor said that another car loaded with explosive material has entered the town to launch a second attack.
Noteworthy, the Islamic State militants, who reside in the surrounding villages of Tel Temir town, adopted on previous occasions several suicide attack operations against the YPG-held barriers in the area.
