Pentagon identifies army casualty in Rojava

The US Department of Defense (DoD) announced today the death of an American soldier who was supporting the US-led coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in the fight against ISIS.

“Spc. Etienne J. Murphy, 22, of Loganville, Georgia, died May 26, in Al-Hasakah, Syria, of injuries sustained during a vehicle rollover related incident. The incident is under investigation,” the DoD said.

“Murphy was assigned to 1st Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, Hunter Army Airfield, Georgia,” department of defense added.

On Friday, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced a U.S. serviceman was killed in northern Syria.

“A U.S. service member died of injuries sustained during a vehicle roll-over in northern Syria, May 26, 2017,” the CENTCOM said.
