ERBIL – The terror group of Islamic State (ISIS) beheaded on Monday a man in the northeastern Syrian city of Raqqa on charges of apostasy, activists and eyewitnesses reported.

In front of dozens of people, ISIS extremists beheaded a 40-year-old Syrian man in Raqqa.

“The victim was arrested by the militants on Monday morning for verbally insulting the Caliphate,” a media activists told ARA News, under the condition of anonymity for security concerns.

After his arrest, the Sharia Court decided to behead the man in public on charges of apostasy.

“The brutal beheading took place in the main square of Raqqa in front of a large crowd of citizens,” one of the eyewitnesses confirmed to ARA News.

This comes just one day after the radical group executed five media activists on charges of spying for the U.S.-led coalition in Syria’s Raqqa.
