Kurds condemn UK terrorist attack

The Foreign Affairs Commission of the Cezire canton of the democratic self-administration in Rojava-Northern Syria on Tuesday condemned the terrorist attack in the UK that killed over 19 people. The Kurdistan Regional Government in northern Iraq (KRG) also condemned the terrorist attack.

“We, the Foreign Affairs Commission of Cezire Canton in the Democratic Self-Administration – Syria, are deeply saddened by the news of the cowardly terrorist attack that targeted Manchester Arena on 22/05/2017, killing 19 people and injuring 50 of innocent civilians,” the commission said in a statement.

“We strongly condemn this criminal act, which contravenes all religions and human values. We extend our heartfelt condolences to the government and people of the United Kingdom and express our solidarity with the families of the victims, wishing the injured a speedy recovery,” the foreign affairs commission said.

Also the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) condemned the attack.

“Shocked to hear of the deadly explosions in Manchester Arena. We must remain united in the face of extremism that recognizes no boundaries,” Falah Mustafa, KRG Minister, Head of Department of Foreign Relations said.

“Strongly condemn Manchester Bombing,” Hemin Hawrami, Senior assistant to President Masoud Barzani said in a statement. “Our hearts and minds are with those who were affected. We stand with UK & free world in defeating terrorism,” he said.

The Kurdish Peshmerga forces in Iraq and the Kurdish People’s Protection Units in Syria have been the main allies of the West in the fight against ISIS since 2014.
